Take from the French Pantry
We often receive unexpected visitors at Chez TT and we don’t even object when they turn up out of hours. It’s all part of rural life in the depths of leafy Pas de Calais. This time, it was Simon King and his friend, on a tour of artisanal food producers in the region, who knocked at the door to survey our jams, marmalades and chutneys.

Simon had driven from the Shropshire end of the Welsh Marches in the UK, where he has a store in the historic market town of Ludlow. They were in need of lunch.

Simon’s shop The French Pantry, provides a fascinating addition to the plethora of other local food producers, markets, restaurants and delis in this fertile and beautiful area of England.

Whether your favourite is Cassoulet, Confit de Canard, Grillons and carefully produced Foie Gras from the South West, or the rich Beef Bourguignon and Coq Au Vin from Burgundy, or the earthy salt marsh lamb and warming Fish soups from the fertile north west, his shelves contain many treats to excite the taste buds and the imagination.

When he left us his car was laden with local delicacies and a moderate sample from the Tea Together range. This is exciting for us because it means there is now a new opportunity for Tea Together followers to get their fix on the western side of the UK.

A call or email to Simon will ensure he has your favourites in his Tower Street store.
